Is it just me that dislikes the use of the word octo ?
Mixed feelings about that, but mostly despise it as well

My main ick is why even did they call it that, I get calling the whole regset (rec) as it does look like an occy

You are quick, quoting part of my deleted post.
Well done.
It all started when we started adding hoses to the first stage, an extra 2ns stage, SPG , then came a BCD that needed a hose [ my Fenzy had a small cylinder] and it all started to look like an Octopus.
I am old enough to the remember when the term started, never liked it then, don't like it now.
Anyway, back on topic,

So the alternate should be just an arm/tentacle then 😅

Any hoo, back to topic: on the „octo“ choice— if the choices are R series ones and an s270, Id take the s270 (just because of its value); but I’ll dive identical 2nd stages as well (ideally 260s)

Looks Like the options are only the R105, though I found one place offering the R195 (which isn't much different). R105 will be fine as a secondary for the type of diving I do (recreational). I'm set to order a pair from one of our business sponsors here, 2x DIN Mk17 Evo2 / S620Ti / R105 (freebie). Hooray for new toys to play with. The offer ends June 30th, in case anyone else is curious.

My partner and I will have matching reg sets, after several years of her using my cheap hand me down Zeagle Envoy reg set from when I did my OW in 2004. Nothing wrong with it, but this will be a nice upgrade now that she's an experienced diver.
