On a sea fan. Size: about 1 inch long, maybe less. Taken at Roatan.
 
Yeah, I found it in Humann et al Reef Creature book, p. 55. "Solitary Gorgonian Hydroid, Ralpharia gorgoniae. Size up to 2.5 cm (1 in); painful sting." Thanks!
