I can only speak for myself, but I am aware that Ali has paid large sums already for the impacted families. Not to mention insurance companies etc.

As a survivor and close friend of two of the deceased people, I have to tell you that both sentences are not true. DivePro even mentioned in an E-mail that the boat wasn't even insured.

So I hate to break it to you, but Ali was lying to you. Or you are lying here.

And don't compare food poisoning with the death of eleven people. God did not bless and protect them.
 
I didn't mention anything about "boat" insurance! Because honestly I don't know. But what I know that Ali has paid money for this catastrophic event. From his own pocket or insurance, I really don't know.
I know also that insurance companies for the victims are involved in the process of this invitation. That is what I meant. That has nothing to do with boat insurance or what not.


A life lost is a life lost regardless, and shall not be taken lightly.

There is no point trying to tell you or anyone how I see it.
Your comment is short and missing very vital information. When I used to lead team of Engineers at GE Healthcare, and whenever I made a statement just like yours, I had to complete my statement by highlighting what is the "accepted" re-assurance of safety statement.

Hence, my question to you Mr. @Jake 10 ,
What is the re-assurance standards are you looking for?

1998!!!
Well... Here is a list of the 174 boats sank only in 2024, of which about 40% of them are American made and/or operated.


Theses are the only vessels reported, only GOD knows, how many were never reported.
I will not even mention airplanes crashes in the last two months only!!! (All American made and regulated industry)

I strongly suggest that you just "read" a little before you make such a statement in public, so you may make a well educated non-biased statement which could hurt your credibility dramatically (if it is even matters).

Why don’t you post your boat safety features:
1. Fire extinguishers & their location
2. Exit doors for those having a nap
3. Life jackets and their locations
4. EPIRB and its location
5. Life raft & its lication
6. Safety Inspection record of safety equipment
7. Status of food, water, blankets in life raft
8. Man Overboard floating rings
9. Oxygen tank for diver experiencing DCI
Etc.

Captain's safety record and years of experience
how many fire extinguishers
how many doors towards the exterior from the cabin area
how many life jackets
is there an EPIRB
how many life raft
last safety Inspection and record of safety equipment
how many man Overboard floating rings
how many O2 tank for diver experiencing DCI
how many near missed incident reported

I would like to visit and dive this part of the world with my son. Every time I start working the travel details another vessel accident comes up in the news. (Sea Story, Carlton Queen, Hurricane)

It is partially correct. Sure, generally having more trips means more accidents.

There are and will be accidents: some because of nature/weather, human error, and a combination of both. This is true for other means of transportation: trains, air, road, bicycle etc.

However, a boat can catch fire, capsize, sink and so on. The outcome can be different if there are smoke detectors, 24/7 watch, life vests, life boats properly equipped, good maintenance and so on. All the stuff is termed as "Safety".

Just saying any boat can statistically be involved in an accident without considering its state, crew adequate training, safety equipment and so on is meaninless, just like a car has statistical chances of being involved in a car accident: there is a difference in both chances and outcome whether the car has functioning brakes and seatbelts for the passengers or not.
