I'm headed out with them next week. I posted about the baggage weight limitations on another thread, turns out they're going to let me go over the limit due to decreased passenger travel that week.

Spoilsport or Sprit of Freedom should get you to much better diving compared to the short “outer reef” options from Cairns. But I don’t think either has 2 night trips, and their shorter trips will be fly/dive trips where you meet or leave boat at a midpoint of a longer itinerary.

You must be doing the shorter trip where you fly? There was no baggage limit for the longer trip without flying when I did it a few years ago.

Yes 3 days from Lizard Island diving Ribbon Reefs.

Cairns local here. Mike Ball and SOF visit the Ribbon Reef areas and do have better diving. 3, 4, or 7 day trips departing twice a week. However, they do book uo well in advance. I can see a bit of availability in April though.

It costs but great diving.

Outer Reef trips still offer good value and have daily departures so easier to fit into your itinerary.
