They made nice lights, but I never thought the price to quality ratio was that great.

With the price of quality lights being so high, one expects a decent battery life and depth limits. Their competition is from the far east manufacturers as most western technical lighting manufacturers exceeded the specifications of L&M.

The recreational market is more price sensitive, so they would struggle against the far eastern products. Only ever saw L&M products in the hands of very few recreational divers.

Never nice to see a brand's demise; alas that's competition.

It's hard to compete when the competition just makes up whatever specs they want and only run full brightness for the first few minutes

Very sad to see.

I recall their original location, on Cannery Row in Monterey, years ago -- little more than a small garage, among the hotels, then machining yup-scale video housings, long before their line of lights and accessories.

Grabbed a couple of Sola 2500s some time back, while on a significant sale -- great lights and long-lasting, both for general diving and photography.

Hopefully, those occasionally fiddly and odd L&M chargers will last well beyond the far-flung year of 2025 . . .

Thats a bummer. I was afraid this was on the horizon given the 40% off sale that has been going on for the last two years, with nothing coming back into stock.

I've got a couple of the Video pro15000 for my camera rig that I am happy with. I guess I should start saving for replacement Keldans now...

I had a Sola back when they were brand new on the market and used it for years. I liked it but the charging contacts would corrode, and the battery was not user serviceable.

I long ago decided to only buy lights that use swappable, standard format batteries and non-proprietary chargers.
