Hi, it's been awhile since I've gone diving, I used to use a rx100 with a wet lens and a GoPro on top for wide angle. I have a big blue 15000 and a 1500 light.

What's the best option for GoPros or any alternative and shooting macro. E.g. pygmy seahorses? At this time I'm happy with an easier setup if the quality is still decent, so if anyone has a setup they like and any videos that would be great! Thanks!

Gopro, or any other action cams, are not good for macro shooting. they are designed to take wideangle photo& video. Their lens minimum focus distance are way too far for any macro shooting. (for example, Insta360 Ace Pro has 40cm minimum focus distance. meaning anything closer than that would not be focused)
If you're looking for simple camera for macro, I'd reckon OM System TG-7.

I like my rx100 video over my go pro. My issue with video on my rx100 is it does not always work in the mode I am currently in and I do not want to change my photo settings to go to movie mode.

What I really want to try, but will not, is to use my pixel phone with a case. My phone is needed on my trip and if I flood the phone, it would be an inconvenience.

I use the backscatter +15 macro lens on my gopro. It's really good but don't expect the same as a proper macro set-up. It's great for nudis but i for pygmy seahorses you'll be better off with something else

Where do you buy that? Direct from Backscatter website? I have not purchased with them before.

Thanks for this - I haven't seen their site before and really like the look of their lenses
