The last thread on this topic is about a year old, didn't seem to be any consensus on the topic. Any more takes now? This would be my first camera for diving.

I use a GoPro 9 but based on my reading and youtube videos the the DJI Action cameras are better than GoPro if for no other reason due to the larger sensor.

We bought a GoPro 10, and we were not very happy with the results, especially in low light conditions.

Then we bought a DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro, which put the GoPro to shame. Yes, we know they are generations apart, but it was still a huge difference. So we got 2nd Action 5, so we have one each. Super easy to use, and we like the footage we get straight out of the camera.

I have been diving with a GoPro 7 for a few years now in Miami and The Keys. My YT videos are here. I do no post production, I just make simple cuts to get the main points of the dives. I also use a Red filter cover. Results vary depending on visibility and light conditions. I recently purchased a Insta360 Ace Pro. I too have been researching this topic for awhile now.

I guess I should update. I ended up with the GoPro Action 5. Haven't been diving with it yet but my wife was in Aruba with it snorkeling, and it took amazing underwater videos.
