Recently completed the PADI Wreck Diver specialty with Blue fin divers in Naxos, Greece. Very positive experience all around. The instructor was very knowledgable, good communication, and it was just him and me for the last three dives. The instructors and divemasters of the shop are very helpful and kind. I completed the specialty in 3 days. Had completed the theory online a few days before getting to Naxos.

The specialty requires 4 wreck dives to complete. This was the breakdown of the dives:

  • 1st Dive: Bristol Beaufighter Wreck - WWII plane wreck. Short dive (around 30 minutes) to explore the wreck. Mostly lion fish and not much more.
Max depth: 33.7 meters Temperature: 22.5 C

  • 2nd Dive: Marianna shipwreck - Cargo ship. Mapping the wreck, spotting possible penetration entrances, depths, landmarks. Much more marine life in the surrounding areas of the wreck: barracudas, eels, parrot fish, lion fish.
  • 3rd Dive: Marianna shipwreck - Practice special finning techniques, deploying/retrieving penetration lines, knots. Penetration into big open areas.
  • 4th Dive: Marianna shipwreck - Deeper penetration into the cargo ship. No marine life at all inside the wreck.
Max depth: 22 meters Temperature: 22.6 C
