Hi Ladies
We would like to inform you of the opportunity to support the Sea Women of Melanesia Program.
Partnering with the Coral Sea Foundation & the Conflict Island Conservation Initiative we are offering an exclusive chance to not only support local Papua New Guinea Women but also explore amazing coral reefs.
The program has women from the local communities around Milne Bay, Papua New Guinea and empowers them to be custodians of their local coral reef environments. They will be taught how to dive, the skills to conduct marine surveys as well as underwater identification techniques. The other part of the course is looking at how they can identify which reefs need protection, how they can bring that message to the community and how to portray the message to the elders, that protection and sustainability of the marine environment will ensure the survival of the community but also the survival of the amazing coral reefs they have. These areas are very remote and the communities really on the marine world for sustenance.
The Conflict Islands Resort is offering accommodation & diving alongside the program. If you wanted to join you can participate with the ladies if you choose. Either way, you will see the ladies develop and grow into the future reef custodians of the area.
