question, at my surface interval I’ll come up and get a nosebleed but then a nasty headache comes along. This is a quite frequent affair any ideas or comments are appreciated

Average dive profile? Bounce dives? Allergies that are acting up causing congestion? Discomfort on ascent? Discomfort of descent? Have you called DAN? If you have DAN, you can use them for their insurance to help cover the cost of a dive specific ENT visit.

Sinus barotrauma comes to mind. Would be good to see an ENT physician.

Sinus barotrauma or maybe that cocktail : brutal valsava + skip breathing (holding your breath while diving).

Concur with @lowflyer in that your symptoms are consistent with sinus barotrauma. If you're having to force a Valsalva (which you should never do due to the risk of permanently damaging your inner ear) and you're consistently getting sinus squeeze while diving, you probably need to see an ear, nose, and throat specialist to determine why this is happening. If you keep diving under these conditions, it's only going to get worse and take much longer to resolve.

Also, please don't skip breathe. It increases your risk of CO2 toxicity.

Best regards,
DDM
