I have the Back Scatter Vacuum Seal system on my NAD-7000 housing. The vacuum gauge on the pump broke and I was wondering if it is necessary to replace it? Or can I pump out the air to create the vacuum and once the green light comes on give it a couple more pumps and I am good.

Or would you recommend buying a new pump with a functioning gauge?

I have the Nauticam vacuum system. My pump does not have a gauge. The vacuum light starts at blue. As I pump the vacuum, the light goes to red, then yellow and finally green. Green is good to go. If the system loses the seal, it goes from green to yellow to red. Once I have established a seal, I have never lost it. If your system is similar, the green light is good enough.
