One key to the success of a non-profit organization such as the NACD is its volunteers, and the NACD would like to add to its volunteer base. If you can help either in person or through the internet, send a request to nominations@safecavediving.com<mailto:nominations@safecavediving.com>. Again, you can be located anywhere in the US or the world to help volunteer.
The primary area where you can help is with our various committees. Some examples of the committees and recent/current projects include Nominations, Conservation and Bylaws. The Nominations Committee is currently working to provide nominations for an instructor and a non-instructor Director position. Some of our conservation efforts the last few years include cleanups at Madison Blue Springs, Cannonball, and the Great Suwannee River Cleanup. In the future, we would also like to expand our conservation efforts to Mexico and other areas of the world. Currently the Bylaws Committee is reviewing the NACD bylaws to determine changes and updates that need to be made. Other committees include Science, Exploration and Survey, and International Safety. These and other committees can be found at www.safecavediving.com<National Association For Cave Diving>. Again, if you want to volunteer for a specific committee or just volunteer, let us know.
While not a specific committee, let me know if you would like to help with the NACD social or seminar this weekend. We have had a number of volunteers but we can always use more.
Remember that the NACD is concerned with safety, education, conservation, service, and exploration. Please volunteer and help your organization meet these needs.
