When you think about our national parks, images of rugged mountain ranges, scenic canyons, or tree-lined hiking trails may come to mind. How often would you think about the national parks and scuba diving?
Our October 19th speaker is an archeologist with the National Park Service's Submerged Resources Center and dives our national parks regularly as part of her job. The SRC locates, documents, interprets, and preserves the underwater resources, primarily cultural ones, found on America's public lands. She will be joining us to tell us about her role with the SRC, some of the projects they work on, and the diving that she and her team do to support their mission.
She'll be joining us via Zoom. You're welcome to come tune in with other CHUMmers on the big screens at Jake's Sports Bar (2944 Chimney Rock Rd) or log in from the comfort of your own home.
Start time is 7:30 pm.
