Hello friends,

I'm putting together a Bp/W setup and was thinking of adding Zeagles Ripcord weight system to it. I'm going with a SS Bp with Oxycheq Mach V 30.

While not a BP/W expert, I do have some familiarity with the Zeagle ripcord system, and since nobody else has jumped in in nearly an hour, here goes:

Unless I'm missing something, you'd have to attach some pockets for the weights and the ripcord "mechanism"-the threaded grommets/holes, the nylon(?) loops that pass through the holes, and the ripcord that keeps the pockets closed. It seems like you are constructing a Zeagle BC on a BP/W. I'm not sure that I see the advantage.

I you like the zeagle ripcord, but want a BP/W then you might consider a DUI weight harness. The release mechanisms are similar but the harness has the ability to adjust the weights up or down along your torso, thus helping your trim. Both systems are very resistant to unexpected release of ballast, my top priority.

I bought the Oxycheq weight pockets and put them on my waist belt with triglides for keepers. Each pocket will hold 5 lbs and they have velcro flaps. Only takes a couple of seconds to dump your weights.

No question really. Thanks anyway Scott. I was hoping to see a pic or two or hear whether anyone else is using it on their Bp/w. OR hear some opinions of why I should or shouldn't use it. I do like the system.

Alright..I suppose I'm asking because my intentions are to use it as a double duty system. Weight pockets when I need to add weight, or just using them for pockets if needed. My only concern is whether this system looks bulky on a Bp/W.

Hello friends,

A few considerations. First, will the kit still be manageable? (You will have to don the SS, the tank and any weights, all as one unit. It will be very heavy).

Second is the wing large enough to float that unit with weights in the pockets and without you in it?

Third, the weight system will take up space on your waist band. For some, that is valuable real estate. For others, not so much.

So it might be a good fit for you; or not. For me, the first two considerations were what I was concerned with. I already owned and used a DUI Weight & Trim Classic harness (I consider that belt my best purchase ever) so the choice was easy.
