Big D,
I own a Ranger and have more than 50 dives in it and find it a very capable BC. In fact, I have been one of the Ranger's proponents on this board since I joined. I encourage you to do a search using my screen name and "Ranger" as keywords to see what I have said in the past (rather than rehashing it again here).
With that said, here is a bit of advice that I can offer you from my experience......
Look long and hard into both the amount of diving and the type of diving you do and will do in the future (1, 3, and 5 years down the line). If you see yourself doing 50 or more dives per year and getting involved in anything remotely technical (deeper, deco, wrecks, double tanks, cavern/cave, etc) then go ahead and put your money into a BP/Wings system. Good BP/Wings systems are not that much more money than the Zeagle Ranger and are much more expandable and adaptable to any form of diving (recreational to technical). This way you will avoid the trap of "pay now, and pay more later" after outgrowing the capabilities of the BC you purchase.
But if you see yourself doing less than 50 dives per year, and only light technical stuff, then the Ranger is a very good choice.
Summary: I really like the Ranger BC, but I kinda sorta wish I had started off with the BP/Wings system I just purchased....I would have saved about $300-500.
PS. Stay tuned....in the near future I may be putting my Ranger up for sale.
