Hi all, I recently bought a Zeagle Brigade BC and I'm wondering if in the future I decided to go tech if could convert this to a 2 tank system by switching out the bladder to a 50lbs bladder??? Is it the same harness as the ranger?? Would this be a decent tech rec setup or would you recommend just spending that money on a BP/W when the time comes...

Thanks!

It can be converted and Zeagle does sell the parts to do so. From what I have heard I would spend the extra cash on a plate and be done with it. Also this leaves you with a BC that you can use for single tank dives or travel where a plate my not be your first choice.
I also have a Zeagle plate and like it just as much as others that I have dove. For the money you can't go wrong.

Very few Tech divers choose to dive anything other than a BP/W for doubles.

By the time you got a new bladder, you'd be well on the way towards a BP/W purchase.

Yes, the Brigade is a Ranger Harness with a Escape Wing. Unfortunately Zeagle wings are not standardized in that they don't fit on a normal BP even if you could adapt the wing to a BP with a drill!

There is nothing wrong with having two setups. Unless you enjoy taking stuff apart there are advantages to having both a singles, and a doubles setup.

I dive a Zeagle Tech bc for both 'large st. single 130cf cylinder' and by adding either a Zeagle SS or Al. full backplate to the bc, dive it for tec using my doubles. This is a bit different bc than the Brigade you have. I find it a stable and functional platform for both forms of diving. Switching from a single to a double configuration takes 5 minutes. I have nothing against a good bp/w set up either, personal choice. ;)

The OP is talking about using the BC alone for twins, I wouldn't do it. I spent around $125 for harness and plate, new.

Ron, I have seen where a Zeagle bladder was used on a brand X plate. They just took the webbing that runs from one triglide to the other and put a grommet in the middle. Keep in mind that the holes from top to bottom have to be the same spacing.

Thanks everyone! Looks like when I really head down this road I will go with a BP/W setup.

I am jumping into this thread because I have a very similar question. I dive a Zeagle Ranger and want to mount a set of double AL 80 on it. I have the doubles with 2 brackets lined up with my Ranger grommets and bolted them on with a piece of aluminum on the inside to reinforce the grommets. What problems do you foresee with this set up?

Guess you are talking a DIY plate....without seeing it I would be hest. to comment...BUT if you do give it a try...give it a run in a local pool. The advantage of purchased type Zeagle full plates is they are designed to wrap the back and are a very stable platform partc. with steel doubles. If your plate is self- machined and using Al 80's you may do just fine..let us know how it works.

Zeagle actually sells a set up for adapting doubles to their BC's. Same idea.
