I'm a Fish!
Have been asked to test and evaluate some of Z-Gears new products, so this will be a continuing thread as I get through different stages of evaluation. These will be evaluated as a group, so here goes

Products received
BCD Light Mount

BCD GoPro Mount

BCD GoPro extension

Received the package with products last nigh so obviously haven't gotten them in the water yet. All products appear to be very well made using Loc-Line branded parts.

Extension set came with a torx driver for removing the collars which is nice, as well as a coiled bungee retainer. My piece of bungee was significantly shorter than what is pictured on the product page, approximately 25% the length and barely reaches the full length of the extension. My extension included 8 segments instead of the 6 pictured on the product page, for clarity would like to see the website indicate how many segments are included. Includes cheap plastic clip which I would prefer to see switched with a small SS bolt snap for security and longevity especially at the price, since a 6" segment can be purchased on Amazon for ~$10, and the clamps are ~$1. Standard industry markup for this package, would not recommend user to purchase the extension due to cost. If it came with SS bolt snap for security and price was ~$20 USD it would be worth consideration for convenience.

GoPro mount kit comes with two right angle Loc-Line adapters, the GoPro mount itself, the base, and a short non-elastic leash, the Light mount is a single angle adapter and the light clamp. As above, convenience of the package justifies the purchase price. These are clearly aimed at the recreational world, which is fine, though I would prefer to see the bases widened to allow removal of the velcro straps and insertion of 2" webbing. This would be preferable for single piece harnesses, but also for the sidemount rigs. These harnesses have a piece of webbing that goes back on the shoulder straps and typically will have trim weights positioned on them for wetsuit diving, but the ability to mount directly to the shoulder straps in this fashion would lead to a more secure mounting point on certain rigs. Webbing slots now are 1.5" nominal so bumping up to 2" would be easy enough in production and allow a more versatile option.

This leads into my next suggestion which would be to develop a head strap where the mounting blocks could be woven onto a tight elastic head band and used in lieu of a helmet which is my current plan for them. Will be getting them in the water and will provide pictures and videos as soon as I am able.

Overall a very nice product with lots of potential. will see how it can best be incorporated into the technical world, as our current options are limited to trays
