Do any of you on here have your own boats? Do you dive off of them?

There is a boating forum for this question right here on scubaboard. Sure we do and more than that we like to argue about whose boat is better, like diving deeper or being DIR. Yes, people have their own boats and dive from them all the time--of course we do. N

Yep, sure 'nuff. Except, I don't own one of those heavy, overpriced, underperforming Boston Whalers, like Nemrod. Instead, I own a light, overpriced, overpower, British Built RIb. Just kidding Nemrod.

Fweber, I keep trying to trade with one of you rubber blow up boat guys :(.

Don't you also own an old classic rubber boat?

Just to rub it in a little. Our 5mtr Tornado can make 35knts with 4 divers plus gear in as rough a conditions as you would want to dive in. Double floored, 2 up Jockey seat, and a cooler for the trip home. But, don't ask me about fuel consumption. (90pintos) It could probably go faster, but at the expense of popping out of the hole as quick as you dare push the throttle forward. A couple friends have scared themselves sufficiently that we've added a kill cord.

I own a jetboat. Its really fun for water sports, dooing spins, sub-moves and scaring the pee of of my passengers. However, it is not a good dive boat. It works, but its too small for 3 big guys and a bunch of dive gear. We have done it, just not the right boat.

You just wanna find out who has a boat so you can dive off it! :-p

Yep - old wooden cruiser. You want to talk fuel consumption try twin 350 ChrisCraft inboards. Wouldn't dare open them up(too many very old, expensive, and hard to find parts to break:D), but I would guess at 20 knots we are talking 30 Gal per hour or so. At 7 knots about 2.5 gal per hour. Not the best dive boat, but it does turn heads.

5 and yes we dive out of all of them. Then there are the dozen plus at work I can use anytime. :D

im down to 3 boats now,a cruiser,a pontoon and a fishingboat,i like diving off the pontoon best, not sure about taking it offshore though.
