Well my wife and my son both completed their classroom and pool work for their OW cert. This coming weekend we (all three of us) head out to do their OW dives on Saturday, while I do 2 of my AOW dives. I get to be a tag-a-long on Sunday while they finish up and than 40 fathom grotto for me the following Saturday for my deep and peek performance buoyancy dives..... :D

CONGRATS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY! It will be fun to share the underwater world together! Definitely takes the family vacation to another level!

Good luck and happy diving!

I am happy for you and your family. Let the family diving begin. I can't wait until my son is old enough to dive...is 8 months too young? Just kidding, really.

My oldest Son is 15, had to prod him a bit to get him to get through the academic portion of the class (you know lazy teen syndrome) but he loved the pool stuff.... guess getting to play with all they new equipment and breathing underwater really did it for him....

We are already planning trips, Keys, Belize, Costa Rica.....

Congrats. Dive safe. I'd say, get the rescue class soon. Stay with safe, shallow dives in calm sea until you all get enough experience.

Once I finish my AOW, Rescue is next... already have the paperwork and all the info on the class..

Thanks

Congratulations!! Diving brings families closer. Stay safe!

Son and Wife are officially certified.... we had a blast, I got to do my Photography class for AOW during their first OW dives so we have pictures... It was hard for me to stop trying to correct them and help them but I let them be and they did fine. It's funny how I can look at them and see the same mistakes most all new divers make and the struggles they have as new divers. I should talk, I am still a new diver as well but things are really starting to "click" for me now like buoyancy control.
