O-ring around orifice? Not sure how that looks like.
Anyway, how come manual doesn't state changing that o-ring?
Its a number 11 o-ring. I didn't replace it because it was a new oriface. While trying to figure the whole thing, the original must have gotten changed out. The o-ring needed is more stiff than a normal o-ring. So putting a softer o-ring on the oriface was causing the creep. Changed it out, and it locks right up.

I just don't log dives
The XT1 service kit includes an orifice oring. Page 20 says to replace it. 90 duro.

I’m having trouble picturing what you’re talking about…does it go around the stem of the HP seat plunger? Can anyone post a diagram?

Gotcha. I had a similar problem with this small O ring on my Deep 6 reg, thought maybe it was the same issue. Serviced correctly but the IP wouldn’t lock up. Replaced with the harder oring and all good 👍🏻. We don’t have the removable Volcano or accompanying oring.

Now it makes sense. It's reaplacable orifice.

I would call that a seat,
-the steel seat
-knife edge seat
In this case it's a removable knife edge seat :)

Sometimes the parts diagrams
Have terrible names for certain parts,
And you have to read into their descriptions,

I deal with parts breakdowns all the time and don't know who writes this stuff.
sometimes I thing it's someone that doesn't speak the language or is translated
