This is really worth checking out!....

These haven't hit the market in full swing yet, but I just received from Patrick Duffy two (2) of the new Oxycheq Mach V Extreme 30 lb. single tank wings with CAM BAND SLOTS. Yes, with cam band slots, no kidding! I have been waiting for several months for these to be manufactured, and my initial impression shouts "WOW" it was well worth the wait! This is the wing that Patrick threw darts at, and slashed thousands of times with razor blades, and it never failed or leaked any air.

Even though I haven't had a chance to dive the new wing yet, the quality is beyond any doubt the highest quality wing I have ever seen, and I have dived many of the popular namebrand wings on today's market. The outer shell material looks like some sort of strong reptile skin that is a newly invented material called "Extreme Armored Fabric." It is black, smooth, and slick, and looks like it would shed water like alligator skin, instead of absorbing water. It has metal grommet holes on the bottom for water drainage. All grommet holes are all metal and black in color.

It is very narrow and streamlined, doughnut-shaped, with a full circular heavy duty zipper, does not require a STA (but the Oxycheq soft STA is recommended that can be zip-tied to wing), has a 16 inch hose, heavy duty inner bladder that feels very thick and robust, perfectly sewn seams, high quality power inflator with power inflator hose, is shaped evenly and is very well balanced. It looks like everything you always wanted in a wing, all packed into a very minimalistic package, without sacrificing what is important. It is not bulky, and is surprisingly lightweight and easy to roll up.

The cam band slots are very long and cannot even be seen until you hold the wing and look very closely. The long slots allow the wing to be used with many different types of back plates, and it fit my non-Oxycheq BPs perfectly, as well as the Oxycheq BP.

I could go on and on about the exceptional quality of this wing, but I will reserve further comment until I've had time to fully test it in the water. Based on this design and quality, I am certain I will love diving with it. The look and feel of this wing just screams QUALITY! I believe this will be the wing that will end all wing shopping for me in the future, and I am very picky. This has got to be the best wing in the WORLD!

This wing is not inexpensive, but if it holds up for as long as I plan to continue diving, it will be well worth it. I had rather pay a little more up front and get quality that will last. I do not consider my gear to be disposable when properly cared for.

Patrick Duffy is truly a wonderful and professional guy to deal with, and he spent an hour with me on the telephone answering questions and discussing several diving-related and equipment issues. I received my order just 2 days after placing it, and shipping cost was very reasonable. His customer service is top-notch.

OK, here's my fine print disclaimer statement.....I do not work for Oxycheq, or anyone who sells Oxycheq equipment. I have not been compensated for this thread. These are my honest, initial impressions of a new and very innovative product. I cannot wait to dive this wing!

Thanks Patrick! You've done it again!

I know I've said a lot without diving the wing first, but stay tuned for more to come later............

Edited to add pictures, but they do not do justice to wing. Flash bounces off armored fabric. Actual wing looks much better.

Any idea when Patrick plans to make this available on the market... I've been looking for a good STA-less single wing...

As with most Oxychek product it would be 6-8 months after he says it will be ready. His supplier has to make it for him with a min. order. So he has to get allot of back orders before he places the order:) But hey you can look at the pictures while you wait:)

ONESPEED:

Echo this ghost rider - this much hype without a pictoral representation to create further drool factor is definitely like being broke and driving past Outback Steak House in the middle of the dinner rush..

OK, OK.....I'll try to post some pics later. Tough audience (LOL)! My camera doesn't do close-up shots very well, but I can get something posted.

Patrick has already posted the wing on his web site, so you can take a look there, but the cam band slots cannot be seen in the current picture. It looks like the Mach V Extreme that is already on the market, except with cam band slots. Also, the Oxycheq soft STA is recommended.

Sorry about the drool factor! I didn't mean to tease!

Edited to add pictures to first post.

Thanks for the kind words. All of the Extreme wings (four sizes) are in stock and we have been shipping all this week.

We will be going to the Beneath the Sea Show in minutes, so I will try to be short.

I got tired of the razor knife strikes at over 13,000. Next week I'll try to add some video clips to the web site.

Yes, I have no doubt it is by far the most rugged wing made today and I cannot make any design improvements to that wing. As far as I am concerned, it is as good as I can make it.

If anyone wants to see the wings at BTS in NJ this weekend, please stop by.

Best regards,

Patrick Duffy

Now if I can just figure out how to assemble this Oxycheq El Cheapo II O2 Analyzer!
