I just bought a used SP MK20 G500. I understand there is a kit that you can use to upgrade it to an S600 for $85.00?

Is it worth upgrading or are we just as well off leaving it the way it is?

Hi DD;

if you ask me : dont do it and save your money for something else. For example nice dives! :)

THe G500 and S600 are almost the same. Actually because of the bad name that G500 once had SP modified the G500 and turned it into S600. (The first series of G500 had a recall). But in fact the G500 is a real good second so stay with and go have fun with your dives.

Good diving,

Xerxes

I just upgraded my G500 to an S600 about a month or two ago. On the inside, the two regulators look almost identical, some parts can be interchanged. Performance wise, I can't tell any difference between the two. The only real difference is the housing. Honestly, I wish that I had saved my money for something else. BTW, I also don't really see any point in doing the MK20 to MK25 conversion unless you service your own gear.
