Can someone tell me what it means to be a world diver? I can't find anything online, but I'm curious. Is it a specific number of locations around the world or a specific list of locations that you must dive to be considered a world diver? Thanks!

never head of the term. Where are you seeing it referenced?

I saw a girl who had world diver as her license plate and asked her about it. She said she had dove in all these different places all over the world and I assume she had some certification for it. I don't remember much else or any of the places she said. It has been awhile.

Umm, I think her license plate read "WORLDDIVER" because that is the vanity plate she chose! I've never heard of any cert with that title.

However if PADI is reading this, look for a new class/materials/patch to be produced, and at your LDS soon! :D

Sort of reminds me of one time years ago when I got an out-of-towner from some hicktown local down south who came on the job. His union card was stamped "Professional Foreman" by the BA in his home local. With a wink to the steward I told the guy that we didn't have any jobs for PF's but if he wanted to work as a journeyman inside wireman I could put him to work. Didn't faze him a bit. He still thought that he should be set up as a crew foreman. He worked out OK though. He turned out to be a pretty decent electrician. His license plate said FOREMAN.

I saw a motorcycle license plate once that read "FAQ U2"

By the rules of Plongee Les Oceanique Practique (PLOP), you must have dived two or more worlds to qualify for the World Diver cert. :)

I have felt like a whirled diver a few times when the current picks up...

Someone has way to much time on their hands - I love it!

I only dive locally but consider myself a world diver... It's a small world after all :)
