Hi there,

The Canadian Museum of Nature is offering an educational workshop in French on identifying freshwater and marine shells from Canada on Feb. 22, 2007 at its research and collections site in Aylmer, Quebec. Maybe some of you might be interested in learning more about the shells you see when diving. This workshop will be given by one of the Museum's own scientific experts, malacologist Dr. André Martel. It also includes a chance to visit part of the Museum’s national scientific collections which boasts the largest shell collection in Canada. This event is part of the evening programmes offered to the public on topics relating to natural science or natural history. It's only $10, which is a very low fee for a two-and-a-half hour workshop.

Advance registration is required as space is limited. To register, call 613-566-4791.

Date and time: February 22, 2007, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Location: Natural Heritage Building, 1740 chemin Pink Road, Gatineau, Québec (Aylmer sector).

Just to reinterate, the workshop will be given in French.
