Am looking for some tips on finding work as an instructor on yachts in the Med and the Caribbean - anybody done it?

Found loads of stuff about crew positions but nothing about dive instructors...

Many other crew agencies out there. good luck

When I did this I got all my jobs via boat brokers and word of mouth. Just start crewing on anything and work your way to that locale. Opportunity knocks.

If you are planning on working abroard you must have your STCW. Every crew member who travels outside US waters is required to have this certification. Some yachts will work with you, but know there is a lot of competition for jobs and most crew is already qualified. Also a good resume and start networking. Ft. Lauderdale is a good place to start. Check out the-triton.com they host crew networking events monthly. I have been in the business for over 20 years and I have seen a lot of changes. Hang in there. If you need more information drop me a line captmaya@hotmail.com
