Hi all-

The missus is looking for a swimsuit to wear under her 3mm wetsuit that adds some additional warmth. The short sleeve Thermocline swimsuit by Fourth Element looks to fit the bill, but it's pretty expensive and doesn't seem to exist inside the USA. I checked out Lavacore but they don't make a swimsuit.

So, can anyone recommend a good swimsuit that would wear well underneath a wetsuit?

The Lavacore (and Sharkskin) stuff wears well under a wetsuit and adds "a little" warmth. The problem with neoprene is that it doesn't layer incredibly well. Warmth yes, but makes the fullsuit harder to get in and out of. It can also restrict flexibility.

I have found that wearing polypropylene long underwear made for skiing and a rash guard top works well, helps the wetsuit slide on, and is easy to drop drawers in the rocking boat head (bathroom). Some wear tights or yoga pants.
