Woman Dies In Scuba Diving Accident

A Massachusetts woman died after a scuba diving accident in a New Hartford lake, according to authorities.

Carol. R. Driscoll, 51, was completing her deep water certification at Brodie Park Saturday morning, but for an “unknown reason” never responded when her instructor gave her the signal to surface the water, police said.

The instructor went in after Driscoll and found her unresponsive. She was taken to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and later, Hartford Hospital where she died the next morning, police said.

It’s the press. It said he was in the water, ellse he could not signal her to surface. I’m sure it’s just regular SCUBA (mis)reporting (oxygen tanks)

'Went in after her' ?

She was transported to the hospital and died the next day. My GUESS is it was a medical event that occurred while diving and not necessarily a diving accident. The instructor, apparently signaled her to surface and she was not responding.

From what was written, no panic or bolting for the surface.

Sorry for family.
