Hi all,

New to the forums here, but a quick question. Looking for what the ideal amount of lift would be for a set of Al 80 doubles. Normally dive a Harvey 7mm Farmer John, aluminum backplate, basic Hog harness. Dive in both NC and Michigan on a regular basis. Thanks in advance for any responses.

The DTD/DIR-Zone Stream 20 (44 lbs) would also be a good choice, and probably cheaper than the Halcyon.

40lbs Evolve: $445
38lbs Agir: $380
38lbs Torus from DeepSeaSupply: $319

I know the instructors at Zero Gravity recommend a 40 lb wing for their students. Mine is a Deep Outdoors.

FWIW - people are recommending wing based on what they use. So if you are like them that will probably work. But say you are 250lbs and use 40lbs of additional lead it might not be the best choice.

Diving might not be the best choice. :lotsalove:

Thanks for the quick responses all! I was looking at the DR trek wing, but thanks for all the other possibles. Again, thanks!

There are a lot of DR products out there that I really like ... but the Trek wing isn't one of them.

Trek and Rec wings were designed as "compromise" wings that would be suitable for both singles and doubles. The problem with compromise wings is that although they will do both jobs, they don't do either one particularly well. There are enough inherent differences between a singles and doubles wing that just make it an inelegant solution.

... and before anyone asks ... yes, I've dived it (both ways). I used to work for a shop that was a DR dealer.
