No need to use a STA. I have a Venture and it is larger single tank wing perfect for steel tanks. While not a streamlined as some others (including the Oxycheq), it is a great option especially for drift dives where you might be staying some time on the surface waiting to be picked-up.

Thanks, (dat was quick.:d:)

loser . . .

I don't think you HAVE to have it, but using it without and seeing how my tank moved around, and how less stable everything seemed, I ended up getting one. (my usual dive buddy advised it when I told him my issues...he's diving the same rig) Using it for the first time yesterday, it felt more stable, and secure than it did before I had it.

It's like $50.00, I didn't think it was a huge expense....

Greetings,

I just logged my first dive using my new Transplate. I used the STA and when I strapped the tank down it was solid and unmoving.
