I've only lived in the Seattle - Tacoma area since June.

I drive along the Sound through University Place and Steilacoom every day, mainly because I love seeing the Sound as I go to and from work.

I've never seen it like it was today, choppy, whitecaps everywhere, and forebodingly beautiful.

Made me wonder what it's like under the surface...

The storm is kicking into full swing. Power has been off and on here for the last hour... already lost a tree or two... Looking like its gonna be a good one...

Yup ... six of us were planning to dive Day Island Wall this evening.

Pulled the plug on that plan around 2 PM ... when the lights started flickering and the trees started bending over ...

Welcome to the PNW...
It gets to be October and the winds start howling...
It isn't raining or howling at 60FSW, it's the surface and entry/exit and the surge that makes it not ideal diving conditions.
Don't worry, things tend to improve quickly.
