WHICH underwater camera

There is a plethora of different underwater cameras on sale now, both new and SH. :11:

I am looking for a camera that has a seperate housing so it looks like an ordinary camera but has the facility of a powerful strobe for good underwater shots., AND I would like one rated to 40 meters. How dark does it get at that depth?? Whats the deepest you can go before it gets tooo blue or you loose all the pretty colours?

I dont mind buying QUALITY SH gear in good condition.

Canon Powershot series and corresponding Canon housings; Your pictures will be very blue under 50 feet or so, moderate coloring above that. But, with White Balance options and editing software you can add color. Look under tips and techniques.

Thanx for the info. Wot models in the canon range would you recommend??

I will also want to get a fairly powerful strobe for that 'natural' colour look, as I dont fance using photoshop to correct any dodgy colour balance shots.....Im not that experienced doing that photoshop stuff.

Canon A or S series. Inon strobe.

Oly 350. Inon strobe.

Fuji 810 or 900. Inon strobe.

My vote is still the Canon A

A610 or A620 are great all around cameras. They seem to be popular with the crowd.

If you want accesory lenses then look and see what Inon makes adapters for, OLY has the advantage in that department.
