I have a Nik V that I need a new strobe. I was planning on getting an SB105 but thought since I plan on going digital (I have Digital Rebel but planning to get 20D) so I'd like the same strobe to be ttl compatable with the digital set-up. I was seriously considering an Ikelite DS-125. Any thoughts???

Well, since you asked, I have a problem with the SB105 for use with a Nik V. Apart from the long recycle time, the Nikon strobes do not have a 1/2 power setting. They rely on the placement of a diffuser to cut power by half. Since the Nik V's auto exposure does not work very well for wide angle, and since you pretty much need the diffuser on an SB105 for wide angle all the time, the strobe does not give you enough control for manual wide angle exposure. The Ikelite strobes are cheaper, much faster to recycle, and give more exposure control while being at least as reliable -Clay
