So is one orginization better than another?? Im NAUI certified with dreams of teaching or guiding some day should I swap to PADI?? Or does it matter?

depends on where you want to teach. In many areas PADI dominates the market so is an advantage, in some others not. If I was you I would take a couple of courses from a couple of different agencies, then decide.

Glad to see you on Scuba Board, humdiver and Welcome! From Matt :monkeydan

Heya Humdiver, first of all welcome to the board! As far as what agency to use, I think that's just a personal preference. PADI (in my opinion) has more advertisement so I would think business wise, it might be easier to find a job. I'm sure there will be some more qualified people chiming in soon that can help you out.

Best Wishes,
Vickie

If you want to teach, you need to find the organization that suits you. Learn about them (lots of threads here) and decide how you feel about teaching. Do you believe in a rigid structure or do you like more freedom? Do you like to present many skills or fewer? Do you think you should be required to affiliate with a store or would you like the option of operating independently? There are many organizations, not just NAUI & PADI. Find the one where you'll be comfortable.

As for employment, there's no way to tell what will be preferred in advance unless you know exactly where (which shop) you would like to work. A PADI 5 star facility will require a PADI certification. Many others welcome agencies they don't already have in house, it gives them more flexibility.

All youre going to get is biased answers. Any of these are good diving certs ACUC,NAUI,PADI those are the only three that I hear alot about. Yes they are good.

None of the answers so far seem biased to me. I thought Walters advice to research all the agencies was well stated and wise advice.

When it comes to teaching you have to know who you are and match that with the philosophy of the agency to find one you are comfortable with. Then again the are many instructors that have certification to teach from several agencies and there are dive shops that represent several agencies.

humdiver---try talking with instructors from all the agencies that you can and also contact the headquarters of each agency and ask for information from them.
