Hi all,
I am overwhelmed by the number of dive company options on Cozumel. I am wanting to take the family diving which consists of a 9 year old wanting to complete PADI seal, a 10 year old for open water and myself completing PADI rescue diver. Can anyone recommend a good company that can provide all this? Thanks for your help. Kristina

We dive with Aldora. I'm sure they can accommodate you. It would probably be easier and cheaper to get certified at home, then spend your vacation actually diving the reefs instead of in class. If the cold keeps you from doing the open water portion of the cert class at home, at least do the pool portion and just do the open water check out in Coz. Since you will be diving with children that will have a depth limit, you may end up having to charter your own boat for the actual dives oat least hiring a private DM.

Other popular dives ops with outstanding reputations are:

Blue XTSea- owned by Christi, who is a member of this site. Top notch "valet" operation

Tres Pelicanos- have not dove with them but they have a large and loyal following on Scubaboard.

Dive With Martin- we chartered a boat with them on our first scuba trip to Cozumel and had our 12 and 18 year old brand new diver daughter with us. Chartered our own boat and had a wonderful time. DWM includes rental equipment in their price and their multi day rates are some of the cheapest on the island.

Blue Magic- excellent company all around, it was like diving with family.

Safe travels, Jay

Hello,

You can check our Trip Advisor reviews as we do a fair number of certifications with the younger crowd and some recent reviews reflect this. Myself, I worked the PADI Kids Sea Camp for a number of years, so I have MUCH experience training in the 8-14 year old age group. Plus we also have Aries and Ray, both MSDT, whom combine for over 40 years experience and 2000 processed PADI certifications.

All our staff are certified as Master Scuba Diver Trainer or higher - even those working as our Divemaster.

Links in my signature. Let me know if you have any questions.

Check with Matt (Mateo) Moran at Blue Angel Resort.
