Any recommendations on dive company in Playa for me to get my Advanced Open Water Cert? NO CATTLE BOATS please!

STAY AWAY FROM SCUBA PLAYA for any reason. They are the absolute worst dive operator I have ever dealt with.
I agree totally!!!!! You can try Gonzo or Chino with Phantom Divers. Excellent DM's. Check out phantomdivers.com , good luck.

Sealife Divers is a pretty good operation, they run small boats that leave right off Mamita's Beach.

Do you know if they are close to the Reef Playacar Hotel and if they will pick up at the hotel?

I'm not sure where Reef Playacar is. I think it's on the south side of PDC, and if that's the case, then you're a pretty good way from Mamitas Beach. The dive shop and the beach are at the north end of PDC, and you would have to take a taxi or hump your gear a little over a mile to get there. As far as I know, they won't pick up at the hotel unless you're diving cenotes, but you can contact them via email to find out for sure. Their email addy is on the website I posted above.
