My 12 year old has completed her scuba class and is planning to complete her open water certification in Cancun. Any recommendations for a competent, quality dive operation would be appreciated. My wife and I are also planning to dive while our daughter is completing her open water cert. TIA.

Alvaro from AlwaysDiving.com. He's patient, calm, and I've seen him get two people (my wife Sue and our friend Kim) past their fears and doing great.
Kim has done OW with him. Sue has done OW and AOW. I've done OW, AOW and Rescue. All with Alvaro. And all done with eLearning referrals.

Hello From Cancun
We provide PADI and Universal Referrals. Since she has completed her class, we can provide the 4 required dives. As you know, kids ages and diving, 12 year old can dive down to 60ft. The first 2 dives are done shallow, 33ft with a descent line. Dives 3 and 4 depending on how we all feel she has done and her comfort level, we may go to 55ft. coral reefs.
If you require more info please shoot me an email or a PM.
The service is private, meaning an instructor will take your family diving, we may have other divers on board with their dive masters or instructors.

Does any one have any thoughts on diving through Scorpio? Should I be concerned that they are not an official PADI shop?

this has been discussed on another thread, and it has been verified, to be able to certify any padi dive course, all they need is a padi instructor on staff, no need to be a padi center if the instructor is an "official" current teaching status padi instructor if you find the thread, it has verification from padi
hope this info helps

Alvaro,

My name is Rob, I will be in Cancun July18th to July25th. I am completing my classroom and pool dives this weekend. What are the next steps to completing in cancun?

Hello

this is the Coconut Divers Cancun ! We can help you to finish the OW course in a dive center that has not lost the personal touch and provide you with a package deal for the certified divers.

Check us out!

Wow, this is almost as bad as getting off the airplane in Cancun with the taxis.

Yeppers...but the OP asked the question and got answers :)

BTW, I will throw in two Jet Ski excursions, a complementary breakfast buffet, and a beach side drink with an umbrella, ALL FOR FREE AND NO RISK TO YOU, all you have to do is blah, blah blah, ... :)
