You can see tons of sharks year-round in Cocos, especially during non-El Nino years. Similarly, Palau has plenty of sharks year-round, and January might be the best time to go. There are lots of sharks at Galapagos year-round during non-El Nino years and again, January might be the best time to go, although whale shark sightings are more likely in May and June. The Shearwater takes divers to Tiger Beach in the Bahamas for photo ops with tiger sharks, hammerheads, etc., in January.

Edit: I forgot to mention the Red Sea--all kinds of shark encounters lately.

You cannot go wrong with South Africa, many places to dive with big sharks - especially in the Southern Cape.

Roatan has that south side shark dive-the one the Italian's run..

EDIT:---Now, also, Beqa Lagoon has a nice Tiger Shark dive---but that's a long haul from the UK...

Head to Malapascua in the Philippines (fly to Cebu then bus / ferry for a few hours). There are two fantastic sites:
- Monad Shoal (the only place in the world I'm aware of with regular Thresher shark sightings)
- Gato Island (you're travelling to Malapascua for the Threshers but Gato's a nice bonus with plenty of white-tips, black-tips and grey reef sharks). In addition to the sharks last time I was at Gato island we saw bandid sea snakes, schooling squid, mating cuttlefish and an eagle ray on our safety stop ... ooohh yeah!

If you can hold off a few months head to Layang Layang in Malaysia (fly to Kota Kinabalu then take a small plane organised by the resort to Layang Layang). Amazing schools of hammerheads.
