I'm planning a trip for Nov. 2013. I have been diving in Hawaii, Cayman, Bahamas and mostly inland recently. I have a daughter that will be 5 at the time of trip. My wife doesn't dive. Trying to figure out where to go, that will be good diving in Nov. and plenty of fun stuff for the family, while I dive, and join them while not diving. Would like to enjoy some warm water, beacause I dive cold year around. Any suggestions out there. Would like to avoid big resort scene. Modest budget. For 2 weeks.
Thanks

I would suggest Buddy Dive on Bonaire - Shore or boat diving - breakfast included - they have a kid's club but 5 may be too young for it.
Lot's of really good places to eat at all price points. Great views of the ocean - several pool areas
Literally thousands of fish around the dock area that you child could throw bread to - kids love it - old farts kind of like it as well.

I suggest this location since there is less of a hurricane threat in November and the price is mid-range. Not cheap but not unreasonably pricey.
Also, Buddy Dive is a good choice for first timers to the island (for many reasons that I won't bother to list)

Have you thought about Cozumel? Just about any type of accommodations you could wish for, in virtually all price ranges, and some world class diving from any number of dive operators. Lots of things for your family to do, depending on how active they want to be. There are lots of references on this on the Cozumel forum, and many of us stand ready to answer your questions. This is an old reliable for those on a budget. Woody
