I'd recommend going to the Florida keys and doing your training with Hall's Diving. They are among the best, if not the best, in that area. They will give you training for DM and also for equipment service, etc. Their graduates have a much higher degree of respect after graduation. Just fyi, if you are looking to get a job as a DM later in the Caribbean with just a DM certification, forget about it. You need to be a full certified instructor to have a chance in getting hired. A DM by itself isn't worth it to the dive shop or dive resort, they need people with diversified skills and can take on more responsibilities. A DM only cert can be useful to work locally with an instructor or a dive club or a boat but not in tropical areas with heavy dive tourism. A mere DM is going to be competing against others with higher certifications, instructor, that can provide much more to the dive operation and resort. Even with instructor certification you are going to have a very difficult time getting a job and DM only will have extremely low chance compared with somebody with instructor certification.
