Just a few general suggestions: check the dive shops in the area. Some might have a pool on site where you could test out gear for a small fee (one local to me charges $10, including tank rental, for an hour in their pool, buddy required).
For dive shops without a pool, check to see if they will allow certified divers to be in the pool at the same time as an OW class.
