I've just scoured the net looking for this answer. can anyone shed any light on where OMS' Back plates, wings, and assorted gear is made?

Are you looking to puchase a bp/w?

I have a Golem Gear #35 stainless combo with the standard horsewing and my dive buddy has the same rig with the ring wing. I am really happy with how my reg performs in the water. www.golemgear.com

If you give Golem a call tell him I sent you along and if he doesn't treat you right the bee will fly over and sting him! LOL I have not doubts that he will treat you well if you send him an email and give him a chance to earn your business.

Not to be a jerk or anything, but NONE of that answers his question, unless you are speaking in some form of code. He asks about OMS, you tell him how happy you are with Golem. Moreoever, he asks where OMS is made, and you mention no geographic area at all for any company, other than mentioning that you like how your "reg performs in the water."

So if you are speaking in code and know where OMS makes their stuff, please tell us the key so we can all know, becuase I would really like to know where OMS makes their stuff too!

To answer you question I went and looked at all of my OMS gear ( BP, WING, FINS and all the others and I did not see one label with The answer. I think its made in England.

I have a feeling that they farm out some of their stuff (sewn goods) to local US contractors and rebadge the other products which comes from all over the place. OMS - Other Manufacturer's Stuff

I would contact OMS and ask them to be sure.

I'm going to have to do this I guess. I still haven't found anything online. Likewise, I've found no tags on my gear stating origin of manufacture. I hate to think they're made in China and this information is being deliberately suppressed.

Just heard back from OMS, and am gratified to learn that the majority of the parts come from the US, and the manufacturing (sewing) is done in-house.

Well I don't really need to comment on whether or not you are a jerk. I think you have a good handle on the situation. I seem to bother you. Could you possibly put me on your ignore list so you will have a more pleansant time on Scuba Board with my posts blocked from your view?

I did ask the OP why he wanted to know. I wondered I perhaps he was looking to purchase and offered another product suggestion that will cost him hundreds less than OMS if he is in the market. I think OMS is over priced for what you get.

The OP has 0-24 dives so I am guessing he is a new diver or wants people to think he is. New divers get a lot of overpriced gear tossed at them before they figure out the deal. I had 2 OMS dealers do their best to sell me OMS gear. I am glad some folks from scuba board took time to point out other options. I considered Hammerhead and Oxycheq set up as well. If you are in the market for new gear Golem offers some nice packages at very reasonable prices. So does Deep Sea Supply for that matter. I however own and dive the Golem so I can vouch for how it does in the water.

Some of the gear I have purchased I would purchase again and the Golem rig is one of those things. I have made other purchases that were costly and I regret them. He isn't asking about any of the things that I regret purchasing so I didn't give a review on those type of items.

Hope this post helps break the code for you.
