Hmmm. If you removed the spots I would say Sand Tilefish...

Oh damn... first saw it from about 40ft away thought it was a baracuda cause of all the dark spots on a long slender fish. I've been seeing a few spots on several fish here and in Bonaire last year that looked out of place but this guy had so many.
Yep, there he is, pg 381 of Paul and Neds Carib Reef Fish ID 3rd edition. Strange he hung around with us 30 minutes over a large area totally different from what it says is his habitat/behavior and reaction to divers.
There was also a flying gurnard in same area with the same indifference to our being there. Was hoping to get a pic of him flying but never happened.
