I realize that I probably won't get any answers, but I wanna hear it anyways. There's Halcyon, Dive-Rite, Oxycheq, Hollis, OMS..........

They all make backplates, harnesses, wings, single tank adapters, inflators, and all with different designs (slightly?)

Do you like to mix and match, or just stick to "the best". What do you dive and why should I dive it too?

The one that you get the best buy on and the one with which you're happiest.

It's all subjective.

the K

biggest most salient questions:

single or double tanks?
what size doubles?
drysuit or not?
V-weight, SS plate or not?

I will recommend the Hollis. I dive with a total Hollis rig and I am very happy with it. I'm sure you will get recommendations on every rig you mentioned. I would probably get the 55# wing in case you decide to move into doubles in the future. No need to buy two wings when one will do the job. I have the single wing adapter to use on mine for when I am not diving my doubles and it works great. I have had no issues with it at all. It has plenty of lift for my doubles and give no bouyancy problems when I move to a single tank.

wetsuit
SS backplate, no weight

Halycon batwing (18lbs, not made anymore)
DSS LCD 20 or 17lb Travel wing.

they are like diving naked :D

I'm a fan of the blue H myself.

I have had my eye on the Halcyon for a while, but it's about $150 more than a comparable Oqycheq wing with Dive-Rite backplate and harness. What makes the Halcyon better?

Some wings work best with backplates from the same company, such as The Deep Sea Supply system.
