I am looking at WA lens - I have seen the Tokina 10-17 as a highly recommended lens. If most of my shots are going to be wrecks here in North Carolina, will I have distortion using a fish eye lens? Would I be better off using a rectilinear lens?

I shoot with both the 10-17 FE, and Canon's 10-22 WA. The barrel distortion of the fisheye generally doesn't bother me and if I am using the FE, my wife generally has the WA or vice versa. The end result images are not all that much different. That said, if I knew the plan was to shoot wrecks all day, I would actually prefer the FE.

I like what the UWPhotog Guide has to say about it: Fisheye Lens vs. Wide-Angle Lens|Underwater Photography Guide
