I loaned my light to a buddy - and there was an accident. The dive boat he was on sort of sank.
He's fine.
My light, not so much. After rolling around down there for about a week, they were able to recover it. He has replaced the light (upraded it, really) and life is good.
Today we hooked up and I got back the thrashed remains of my once-proud light (Helios 10w HID) and its not pretty.
The boat sank in the early Am, so the light was charging. The canister was open, and the batt hooked up to the charger in the Galley.
So what we now have is:
* A canister with belt loop and latches
* A lig with all hardware, but a stuck, rusty switch
* 1/2 of an E/O cord, with a big break in it
Lets review: No batt. No Charger. No light head. A DOA switch, and a cord that's essentially worthless.
OK - I'm staring at the thing, and mulling over my options:
* Neptune Society - just chuck it and some flowers off the bridge, and remember it fondly.
* Steve Austin - try to rebuild the thing around the (presumed) working canister and lid.
* Keep it as a solemn reminder that my very fav dive buddy got out OK, and is doing well. Maybe plant some poseys in it or something.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Ken
