Just compromise and use "Advancing Open Water Diver"
There isn't any need to compromise as nothing is going to change. Again, it is brilliant marketing. People can have an "advanced" card after 9 dives. Just to be clear, IDGAF that some website or some materials has some verbage that this is about advancing skills. The name on the card says advanced, and that's what many people with that cert think and also what non divers are going to think.

I saw it as a card, I had over 100 dives when I finally got to get AOW in 2019, now going for Nitrox fianlly in December 21. It is also a way for PADI and other cert orgs to make extra money. That being said, I cannot say it is "useless", but as stated above, I think the price for OW should be raised and bindled with your OW cert course.
