Can someone please tell me what the warrantee/guarantee period is on an Oxycheq 40 or 45 Signature Wing?

I'd also like to know what the same would be for DSS' S.S. Backplate and adjustable harness.

Dive Rite's bladders have a life time warantee so I'd like to compare. I've gotten some conflicting info. from dealers which surprised me.

Thanks, Jim

Mayhaps you should check the websites?

just curious... what would need to be covered on a SS Backplate?

Hi fishbOy, I only wondered on Tobin's backplates. I know his plastic slot inserts are permanently molded in, but thought maybe he stated a warrantee period anyway, somewhere...considering that's one feature that is completely different from other plates. I also was asking about the pro-fit harness.

Green Manelishi, I looked on both websites and didn't see any warrantee period info on the Oxy wing or the DSS backplate.

I hoped some purchasers here would know from experience/printed warantees before I emailed the two manufacturers, to ask.

I've emailed Tobin tonight. I'll email Pat @ Oxycheq in the morning .

Thanks

I think it's a year on DSS stuff, but I doubt he'd warranty it if you ran a truck over it or blew it up with some sort of explosives...which is the sort of thing you'd have to do to need warranty work on a plate ;)

As for the harness...I don't think you could dive enough in a couple of years to have it tear or anything. If you did, you'd probably feel you got your money's worth because you were diving every day several times a day and rubbing against abraisive rocks or something.

Wings seem to me the only thing to be concerned with warranty-wise, since I imagine a weld can fail just because of dumb luck (though I haven't heard of anyone complaining of such a thing with DSS or Oxycheq wings).

I'll bet that both of them will answer a direct question about their gear.

I would not look for too much on a wing except for obvious manufacturing defects; they do eventually wear out if used on a constant basis.

As for the backplate itself unless you intentionally try to destroy it, your are not likely to have a backplate "fail".

The backplate harness will also eventually wear out but it will take some time if you use a good quality webbing.
