Don't say it was a piece of kelp, this thing was moving even though I was poking it with a piece of kelp.
 
Oh WOW, that looks sort of like a big acorn worm. Leslie or Bill can verify/correct easily enough, I'm sure.

You California people have such sweet invertebrates.

How big was this worm?

BTW- these worms might have huge teeth..best not to poke them with kelp because it will shoot out and grab you by the leg and make you into a commensal partner!:D
