What is this creature (underwater termite)

Probably some Australian weaponized version of the Limnoria that eats up timber piles in the brackish waters of the Atlantic side of the US.
The ones here don't have those front pinchers from your image.

For what I've heard every creature in Australia has the capability of killing humans. For the US the word is that the humans do most of the killing..... Of course there may be a bit of exaggeration on both accounts.

Except that we carry them concealed, unless we are trying to compensate for small hands.
 
Is that bright spot just reflected light or does that critter have a Nuclear Battery??
