I'm a Fish!
A few months ago while living in West end they had begun considerable road work. What is the current status of the work? I/v been told that they hope to finish by Semana Santa (Easter)

Now way in heck. I just got back and they are still digging holes in different places each day. No one believes that it will be done before rainy season this year. ( I believe the workers are paid by each hole they dig and fill back in)

It was a rainy week when we visited in the first part of february and it was a gooey ugly mess. Some locals we were talking with were describing someone going in teh mud up to their thighs the day before.

Down here now. It's still a mess. They seem to be putting in a drainage system in advance of paving it. I've been told they are going to use pavers (bricks) ala Parrot Bay Plantation which should look great. Apparently there had been some local opposition to paving as the mud road was "tradition".

There has been a number of proposals on what to do from "Leave it as is" to "solid concrete surface". I hope what the end up doing allows them to dig up and fix the water and sewer issues they will have because of the bad construction underneath
